The following events/activities are opportunities outside of btc that you and your family can do to also help our local community:
1. Making no sew blankets - many organizations are in need of blankets, but due to "shelter in place" order they request that the blankets not be dropped off until further notice. One organization is Project Linus. The instructions can be found here: https://087265dd-bc24-49c3-8fbf-58ecf9023cc6.filesusr.com/ugd/03f510_4638447dc2a6441ea07dea52c30c2b49.pdf
2. Write thank you cards or uplifting messages to local hospitals- doctors, nurses, and medical professionals all need an energy boost! Cards can be sent to Patient Relations or Director of Nursing.
3. Donate needed supplies - many hospitals and medical facilities are desperately low on various items.
4. Paint inspiring or colorful rocks and place them around the neighborhood, trails, etc. - instructions/ideas can be found here: https://colormadehappy.com/best-painting-rocks-supplies-guide/
5. Make homemade face masks for medical personnel - Joann's fabric store makes pre-assembled kits that you can pick up curbside at no cost. Each kit contains enough material and supplies for 5 masks and they limit one bag per person per day. The Joann's on Almaden Expressway recommends you call ahead of time and make sure they have kits in stock because they go quickly. They open at 11am. 6. Sign up to be a "Bay Area Cotton Mask Non-Sewing Volunteer" - for those that do not sew, here is a great alternative way to help with the project: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfqQjUYhNPxJhMjaTqw7ZsmKvDfQUurQrRmHNFB3Ym9PYdrzQ/viewform
